Coverage: 196 countries and areas represented in the global PrEP and DoxyPEP evidence database. Evidence base: UNAIDS AIDSinfo and Global AIDS Monitoring data, WHO's 2026 DoxyPEP recommendation, and cited national public-health, regulatory, reimbursement and clinical-guidance sources. Country-specific official sources are used where comparable evidence is available.

How to read the data: Map color shows the selected product's recorded national access status. A PrEP recipient count is the number of people reported as receiving PrEP in the stated year; it is a service-use count, not a percentage or population-coverage estimate, and it does not by itself establish reimbursement. DoxyPEP classifications summarize reviewed national access or guidance evidence and do not prove universal availability within a country.

Methodology: PrEP and DoxyPEP are displayed as separate evidence domains. Access, reimbursement, recipient counts and clinical guidance are not combined into a composite country score or official ranking. Missing evidence remains visible and is not treated as zero access.

Research transparency: Data collection, extraction, standardization and technical quality checks were supported by AI-assisted research tools and reviewed against the cited primary and institutional sources.
